Fred and Fern Hoffmeyer, of Beecher, will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary with an open house from noon to 3 p.m. June 23 at Peace Lutheran Church, Beecher Campus, at 540 Oak Park Ave. in Beecher.

The event will be hosted by their children. No gifts please.

Fred married the former Fern Wilkening on May 9, 1954, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Beecher officiated by the Rev. Henry Hoffmeyer.

The couple have six children: Yvonne Squier; Dan and Karen Braun; Brenda Hoffmeyer; Jeff and Lisa dePerio; Scott and Linda Hoffmeyer; and Michelle Hoffmeyer and Dan DeCarlo. They also have eight grandchildren.
