Illinois State Police investigated an incident Monday involving a pedestrian and semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 57 in Kankakee County.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:46 a.m. in the southbound lane at milepost 308 in Kankakee, state police said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The southbound lanes of I-57 are currently shut down between Court Street (Exit 312) and U.S. Route 45/52 (Exit 308).
