The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office and Kankakee Police Department are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered Saturday from the Kankakee River.

Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said the unidentified victim was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m. Saturday.

The victim’s body was discovered by fishermen near the Kankakee hydroelectric plant by the Kankakee River dam.

An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday, Gessner said.
