The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office and Kankakee Police Department are investigating the death of a man whose body was recovered from the Kankakee River Saturday.

Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said the unidentified victim was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m. Saturday.

The victim’s body was discovered by fishermen near the Kankakee hydroelectric plant.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, Gessner said.
