Malden Methodist wrapped up the regular season championship and will take in the No. 1 seed into the Princeton Fastpitch Church League Tournament which starts Thursday at West Side Park.
Malden clinched the top seed with a 16-13 win over St. Matthews Friday night. Also Friday, United Methodist beat Bureau Township 13-9.
The tournament gets underway Thursday with No. 2 St. Matthews facing No. 4 Bureau Township at 6 p.m. followed by No. 3 UMC vs. No. 5 Bunker Hill at 7:30 p.m. Malden awaits the winner of the first game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday with Thursday’s losers to meet at 6 p.m.
St. Matthew’s is the seven-time defending league champion.
