Hall freshmen Landen Plym wins PIT golf

IVC won the team championship of Saturday’s Princeton Invitational golf tournament, but Landen Plym won the individual crown.

The Hall freshmen carded a 79, shooting a 37 on the front 9 and a 42 on the back 9 to edge IVC’s Elaine Grant and L-P’s Coleman Rundle, who both shot 81s.

The Grey Ghosts beat out the Red Devils by four strokes for the team title, 346-350. St. Bede (362) took fifth, Princeton (374) sixth and Bureau Valley (383) seventh in the nine-team field.

Grant Plym, Landen’s cousin, was sixth (84) for Hall while St. Bede’s Jake Delaney (85) and Trent Acuncius (88) were eighth and 10th, respectively.

Also scoring for Hall were Nick Arrate (91) and Josh Scheri (96) with Rivers Jordan (100 and Artie Argubright (111).

Jarrett Carr led PHS with an 89 with Jack Bauer adding a 93, Jaden Eggers a 95, Karter Patterson and Josh Peterson 97s and Jordan Reinhardt a 99.

For Bureau Valley, Seth Spratt a 93, Bryson Smith a 95, Landon Birdsley a 96, Cooper Balensiefen a 99, Parker Stier a 101 and Payne Lind a 126.
