The Whiteside County Health Department on Saturday announced two COVID-related deaths involving people in their 50s and 90s, as well as 84 new cases and 36 recoveries.
The new cases involve 14 people younger than 20, 13 in their 20s, 11 in their 30s, 13 in their 40s, 13 in their 50s, 10 in their 60s, six in their 70s and four older than 80.
Lee, Ogle and Carroll counties did not update statistics Saturday.
Whiteside County has had 3,573 cases and 69 deaths. Lee County has had 1,486 cases, 906 recoveries and six deaths. Ogle County has had 2,456 cases, 1836 recoveries and 24 deaths. Carroll County has had 956 cases, 797 recoveries and 23 deaths.
The North region (Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties) has seen four days of positivity increases and six days of hospital admission increases. The region's positivity rate decreased from 19% to 18.2%. Currently, 28% of medical/surgical beds are available and 25% of ICU beds.
Within this region, DeKalb County's positivity rate decreased to 14.3%, Lee County's rate increased to 16.8%, and Whiteside County's rate dropped to 21.6%.
Illinois on Saturday announced 11,891 new cases and 127 deaths. There have been 646,286 cases and 11,430 deaths statewide.
Sterling has had 10,352 tests and 1,316 cases. Rock Falls has had 5,163 tests and 777 cases. Dixon has had 11,408 tests and 1,052 cases. Rochelle has had 6,212 tests and 888 cases.
