Kidnapper gets 60 years for terrorizing Erie couple

Chad Schipper, 42, appears in Whiteside County Court this afternoon, where he was sentenced to 60 years in prison for kidnapping and terrorizing Larry and Connie Van Oosten, whom he took from their home held for ransom for 2 days in February 2017. Because he was convicted of committing a forcible felony against people older than 60, Schipper must serve at least 85 percent, or 51 years. (Kathleen A)
