Amy Geckler, 43, of Streator, was cited at 2:58 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Hall and Illinois streets in Streator for failure to signal when required, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving under the influence. Geckler was transported to La Salle County Jail and was released with a notice to appear in La Salle County court.
Casey Newman, 38, of Paw Paw, was cited at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on Route 178 and I-80. Newman was cited for driving without a front or rear registration plate.
Dominic Ponsetti, 35, Cedar Point, was cited at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday after he disobeyed the stop sign on 2401st Road where it meets Route 178, driving through the intersection, leaving the roadway and striking a fence, tree and shrubs. Ponsetti was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and operating an uninsured vehicle. Ponsette was released with a notice to appear in La Salle County court.
Lexy Arevalo, 21, of Streator, was cited at 6:33 p.m. Wednesday for driving 93 mph in a 55 mph zone, and driving without a license. Arevalo was released with a notice to appear in La Salle County court.
Timothy Pavnica, 30, of Mendota, was cited at 7:18 p.m. Wednesday on Route 34 after a two vehicle accident. Pavnica attempted to pass another driver while he was turning left and struck the back drivers side of their vehicle. Pavnica was cited for improper passing in a no passing zone while a vehicle is turning.
