ELGIN – Ecker Center for Behavioral Health, which serves communities in north and central Kane County – is trying something new this year – a Gifts that Give Back auction slated for Nov. 14, according to a news release.
“This would have been the date for our annual gala, but that’s a no-go this year due to the pandemic,” Kay Catlin, Ecker fundraising manager stated in the release. “Instead, we’re hoping to raise funds while helping people shop for the holidays.”
The auction will feature approximately 50 unique gifts and fully decorated trees for holiday giving.
As of Oct. 15, a catalog featuring these items will be available on Ecker’s Facebook page and via email request at kcatlin@eckercenter.org. Tree options will be added shortly after Nov. 1.
Pictures and short descriptions are included. For those who prefer to see and touch items before the auction, a preview will be up Nov. 7 at Ecker Center, 1845 Grandstand Place, Elgin. Viewing can be arranged via appointment by calling 847-695-0484 x 1395.”
The auction will feature a variety of items, including a chunk of the Berlin Wall, beauty items, a Sheriff-for-a-Day gift certificate and a family fun package valued at more than $800, the release stated.
All proceeds of the auction will go to the programs and services of Ecker Center.
