Here's where (and when) you can trick-or-treat in DeKalb County for Halloween

The following towns announced that trick-or-treating will occur during these hours on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31:

4 to 8 p.m. Cortland

3 to 6 p.m. DeKalb

4 to 7 p.m. Genoa

4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Kirkland

Noon to 6 p.m. Malta

4 to 8 p.m. Sycamore

The Illinois Department of Public Health has a comprehensive guide for a safe Halloween amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which stresses the importance of wearing a mask or face covering, limiting interaction with others, staying home and not passing out candy if you feel ill or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19, social distancing, limiting large gathering to groups of 10 or fewer per the mitigations currently imposed on the geographical area known as Region 1, which includes DeKalb County.
