KANE COUNTY – The COVID-19 testing site at the Chicago Premium Outlet Mall in Aurora will close on Sept. 30, according to a news release from the Kane County Health Department. The site has been offering free testing since April, and the Illinois Department of Public Health is expected to announce a new site soon.
However, the Kane County Health Department also announced Friday that a mobile testing unit managed by IDPH will return to Kane County next week to provide testing.
Testing is free and open to all regardless of symptoms. The mobile testing unit will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
Monday, Sept. 28 and Tuesday Sept. 29 at 501 N. Randall Road, Batavia in the old Sam’s Club building
Saturday, Oct. 3 200 N. Grove Ave., Elgin, in the old Gail Borden Library
Sunday, Oct. 4 1500 Kings Road, Carpentersville at Dundee Crown High School
If you have recently been exposed to a potential or confirmed COVID-19 case, you are encouraged to get tested, even if you are not experiencing symptoms. A phone number and name are required in order to receive testing results. Photo ID is not required.
Those using drive-thru testing must be seated at a functioning window. Once you get in line at the site, you will not be permitted to exit your car, the release stated.
