GENEVA – Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital is now allowing two visitors per patient for non-COVID-19 patients on inpatient units, according to a news release Thursday.
New guidelines are as follows:
Visitors are allowed between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Patients in the New Life Maternity Center can have one visitor
Visitors must be masked at all times, including when in a patient’s room.
Visitors must be identified by the patient’s clinical team during the registration process
Outside of visiting hours (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) visitors are not allowed except for the following:
Patients under the age of 18 can have one visitor/companion
Patients in need of compassionate care, including pastoral care visits and those at the end of life, can have two-visitors
Patients in the New Life Maternity Center can have one visitor
Patients with disabilities who require a reasonable accommodation for assistance related to an intellectual, developmental or cognitive disability can have one support person
Patients requiring transportation home after an Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinic or Diagnostic Testing visit are limited to one visitor/companion
All patients and visitors will be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 or flu, including a temperature check. Visitors indicating or showing signs of illness during this screening process will not be allowed to visit or accompany the patient.
Patients and visitors who complete the screening will be given a badge to proceed. Patients and visitors without a badge will be asked to return to the screening location to complete their screening.
