STERLING – Applebee's will close its doors Sunday.
The restaurant at 3920 E. Lincolnway has been around for more than 20 years.
A restaurant employee confirmed the closure in a phone call Saturday evening, but would not get the manager and hung up when asked for further information. A pair of small, green intermodal containers have been placed at the side of the restaurant for a few days.
Applebee's Executive Director of Communications Melissa Hariri has not returned calls this week seeking comment.
Thrive Restaurant Group of Wichita, Kansas, known as Sasnak Management until last year, owns the location.
