NRG donated $10,000 to local first responders

As part of a national initiative to support COVID-19 relief efforts, NRG donated $10,000 to local first-responders.

This included first responders in AMITA Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet and Silver Cross Foundation in New Lenox to help provide critical assistance for the local community.

On a broader level, NRG is pledging $100,000 to support the state of Illinois during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as part of its larger $2 million commitment to assist non-profits and charitable funds supporting first responders and teachers, as well as impacted employees and communities where NRG does business.

Other local donation recipients include:

• Illinois Latino Caucus Foundation

• Pekin Fire Department

• Waukegan Fire Department
