East St. Louis junior quarterback Tyler Macon piled up yards, touchdowns and plenty of Division I offers throughout his 2019 campaign.
Macon had nearly a dozen offers when he announced his commitment to the University of Missouri on Twitter Friday.
The 6-foot, 180-pound dual-threat QB also had offers from Central Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Iowa State, Southern Miss, Vanderbilt and Western Michigan, according to 247Sports.
Macon, the 2019 Friday Night Drive Offensive Player of the Year, threw for more than 4,000 yards and rushed for 829 as East St. Louis finished the season with a 14-0 record. He threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns to go along with 93 yards rushing and another score in a 43-21 victory over Prairie Ridge in the Class 6A state championship game in DeKalb.
Following the season, East St. Louis head coach Darren Sunkett called Macon one of the hardest workers on the team.
"He's the type of kid that doesn't miss a day throwing the football," Sunkett said. "Whenever he has the opportunity, he's outside, he'll get his wideouts together and those guys will do their own thing. He's the ultimate worker."
