City approval of a new Joliet bus station has been stalled again while state officials review the construction contract.
Joliet city staff has recommended that low bidder Carlson Brothers in Joliet be awarded a $9.3 million contract to build the downtown bus station this year. It would become part of the Joliet Gateway Center.
A vote was tabled on Feb. 4 and again Tuesday as state officials review the contract. The state is providing $2.2 million for the project, and Pace is providing $7.1 million.
