YORKVILLE – A Minooka man was sentenced by a Kendall County judge on drug possession with intent to deliver charges this week.
Kai A. Devine, 20, of the 23000 block of Hickory Lane, Minooka, was sentenced to eight years in prison by Kendall County Chief Judge Robert Pilmer for unlawful possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance on Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to a news release from the Kendall County State's Attorney's office and court records.
Devine was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a Class X felony, for allegedly delivering between 15 and 100 objects containing LSD, back in May 2017, according to Kendall County court records. Devine was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, a Class 1 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony, records show.
Bond was set at $75,000 for Devine, according to court records.
Devine will be required to serve 2 years of parole upon his release from prison, according to the Wednesday news release. He also has consented to participate in the Impact Incarceration Program with the Illinois Department of Corrections, which offers prisoners the opportunity to reduce their sentences by participating in the boot camp-like program.
