BOYS SWIMMING
Barbs fall in DVC meet: Facing two of the top teams in the state, the Barbs finished third in a triangular against Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie Valley.
Neuqua was second and Waubonsie third in the state last year.
"We knew this was going to be a tough meet with lots of competition," coach Melanie Chambers said. "The boys did a great job of racing and held their own. We were not too far behind the other teams and they both had diving which scored points for them. We were happy with the time drops that we had tonight, and are looking forward to being able to do some tough training over winter break."
Gavin Anderson was second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:51.44), Anthony Biundo was second in the 100 backstroke (56.71) and Donny Gramer was second in the 50 free (23.23) and 100 free (51.45).
