AURORA CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL’S “THE BARD X2” PRODUCTION: 7 p.m. Nov. 1, 2, 15 and 16, 1255 N. Edgelawn Drive, Aurora. It presents “The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark” the first week and “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” by Tom Stoppard the second week. Each performance will include a “not-dumb-show” at 6:45 p.m.; they were silent pantomimes that Shakespeare used to explain his plays before they were performed. “THE CREATURE CREEPS” COMEDY BY JACK SHARKEY: 8 p.m. Nov. 1 and 2, Riverfront Playhouse, 11-13 Water Street Mall just west of Route 25 in downtown Aurora. It’s a creepy comedy complete with a mad scientist, his misshapen assistant, a grim housekeeper, secret laboratory, shrieks from the cellar, disappearing villagers, an incredibly stalwart and stupid hero of sterling character, the scientist’s absolutely dopey daughter, and so many laughs you’ll lose count, announced the troupe. FINAL EXHIBITION OF FOX RIVER PAINTINGS: Through Nov. 15, with talk Nov. 4, Elgin History Museum, 360 Park St. A "Fox River Testimony" collection of original Fox River oil paintings is by plein air artist Joel Sheesley, artist-in-residence for The Conservation Foundation's Art of the Fox program. Sheesley, an emeritus professor of art at Wheaton College, chronicled his experiences with the project in a 160-page coffee table book. Museum hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The center’s chief curator Meg Bero of Batavia (who just announced her retirement) and curator Laura Russman co-curated the exhibit. The museum shows 150 historic and contemporary Native American clothing items, shoes, jewelry, bags and hats.
