Man unwittingly takes off on trike, crashes at Woodstock Harley-Davidson

While a man was being taught on how to drive a three-wheel motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at the Harley-Davidson in Woodstock, he accidentally took off and crashed into a pillar and three motorcycles, said Doug Jackson, partner and general manager of the dealership.

The man suffered a cut on his forehead, Jackson said.

He was taken To Northwestern Medicine in Huntley in good condition, Woodstock Fire and Rescue Capt. Karen Bush said.

Bush said the call for help came in at 12:33 p.m.

Woodstock police are conducting an investigation, she said.

Jackson said the man was sitting on the trike and a salesman was explaining how to use it “when before you knew it, he took off on it ... then he careened” into a pillar and three motorcycles.

It was too soon to know Wednesday afternoon the cost of the damages, Jackson said.
