A Naperville man was arrested after he forced his way inside the home of his ex-wife’s boyfriend, attacked him and screamed at his own children to get inside his car, according to court records.

On Monday, Matthew R. Vura, 36, was arrested and jailed on charges of home invasion and criminal trespass to a residence in connection with the incident, which occurred July 1 in Plainfield, records show.

Vura’s 33-year-old ex-wife and her 31-year-old boyfriend both petitioned for protective orders against him the day after the incident, according to court records. A judge granted both orders.

Vura’s ex-wife’s boyfriend claimed in his petition that on July 1 his girlfriend and her four children were eating pizza in his kitchen when the doorbell rang. He saw no one through the door’s peep hole because Vura allegedly was hiding in a “crevice” on his porch, the petition said.

When the boyfriend opened the screen door, he had his head slammed against the door by Vura, who then forced his way into the home and screamed, “You could have done this better,” the petition said.

Vura proceeded to scream at his two children to get into his car, the petition said.

“I blocked him as best as possible from entering into the home and bear-hugged him onto [the] ground in my living room,” the boyfriend claimed.

After the altercation, Vura fled the scene, and the police were contacted, the petition said.

Vura is being held at the Will County jail on a $200,000 bond.
