A fire that started Monday morning in a storage room of Alibi Pub and Grub in Wonder Lake caused about $15,000 in damage, a fire official said.
The Wonder Lake Fire Protection District was called to the restaraunt about 11:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire still is under investigation by the Wonder Lake Fire Protection District and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office but doesn’t seem suspicious, Wonder Lake Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Chris Weber said.
The small fire was under control in 10 minutes and needed only one hose line, Weber said. The owners were out by the time crews arrived, and no one was injured, he said.
Alibi Pub and Grub, 4117 E. Wonder Lake Road, said in a Facebook post that it would be closed Monday because of the fire, and hopefully be open in a couple of days.
“Thankfully it was minor damage and we’ll reopen in a couple days,” the business wrote.
The owners could not be reached for information.
