A 60-year-old Chicago man died over the weekend after the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Interstate 80.
Francisco Garcia was driving a motorcycle west on I-80 when the bike reportedly left the roadway and struck a fixed object near the Chicago Street exit in Joliet, according to a news release from the Will County Coroner's Office.
Garcia was pronounced dead at 12:42 p.m. Saturday at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
An autopsy revealed he suffered injuries consistent with a motorcycle crash, the coroner's office said. Illinois State Police are investigating the incident but could not immediately be reached for more information Monday.
