ST. CHARLES – The Dennis Taylor Scholarship Foundation for the Performing Arts announces the availability of scholarship grants for the 2019-20 school year.
The deadline for applications is April 16. Awards will be conferred upon students of voice, instrument, theater and dance.
The scholarships are available to post-secondary and undergraduate students residing in the western suburbs of Chicago who are pursuing a major in the performing arts, and who demonstrate a passion for performance.
Last year, grants were given to students from Batavia High School, St. Francis High School, Conant High School and West Aurora High School.
The Dennis Taylor Scholarship Foundation for the Performing Arts also provides grants for primary and secondary school students, with details on the website.
Candidates can complete or download an application at dennistaylorsf.org. They also can request an application form from dennistaylorsf@gmail.com or by calling 630-584-0139. Finalists will be invited to audition in late April at Vero Voce Studio Theatre in St. Charles [verovoce.com].
Dennis Taylor served as a dancer, choreographer, costumer, makeup artist, set dresser and wig designer at dozens of suburban theaters for more than five decades. Additional contributions to the scholarship foundation in his memory can be made at squareup.com/store/DTSF.
