Roundup: Christine Corpuz, Chelsea McCullum lead Oswego East basketball to two wins

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Oswego East: Christine Corpuz scored 22 points and Carly Engelhardt added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Wolves in a 71-47 win over Plainfield East on Friday. Chelsea McCullum added 10 points, and Abby Ford had 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals for Oswego East (4-5, 1-2 Southwest Prairie).

McCullum scored 16 points and Corpuz 12 for Oswego East in its 62-42 win over DeKalb on Dec. 6.

Oswego: Angelina Schlinger scored 15 points and Jenelle Rogers and Julia Henrikson each added 13 for the Panthers in a 72-52 win over Plainfield Central on Friday. Samara Bosman and McKenna Engler each chipped in with eight points and Danielle Dorilio scored seven for Oswego (8-2, 3-0 Southwest Prairie Conference).

Oswego freshman: Brooke Tennent scored 11 points and Keeley Yore added seven for Oswego in a win over Plainfield Central on Friday.

WRESTLING

Oswego: The Panthers (6-3, 2-0) beat Grayslake North 53-22 in a dual meet. Zach Sato (132), Derek Torza (145), Cole Pradel (160), David Miller (195) and Geno Lukowski (220) notched pins for Oswego. Oswego lost to Leyden 40-30. Luke Barron (126) earned a pin for Oswego.

The Panthers lost to Glenbard East 46-21. Sato (132), Samuel Saravia (138) and Duncan (182) had pins for Oswego.

Lukowski's pin sealed Oswego's come-from-behind 38-36 dual win over Joliet West. Saravia (138), Jaiden Speer (160) and Pradel (170) also had Panthers' pins.

Oswego East: The Wolves lost to Glenbard East 48-22 in a dual meet. Justin Crawford (160) and Dillon Griseta (182) notched pins for Oswego East.

The Wolves lost to Highland Park 40-16. Carter Skalicky (120) and Evan Brauer (138) earned pins for Oswego East.

The Wolves lost a dual to Leyden 61-16. Brauer (138) and Nicholas Patch (145) notched pins for Oswego East.

The Wolves lost a dual meet to Joliet Central 49-16.

GIRLS BOWLING

Oswego: Oswego finished eighth in the bronze division at the Strikefest Tournament with a score of 4,429. Cynthia Memming had Oswego's high series of 978 and high game of 215. Kaitlin Freundt bowled a 937 series and Shannon Torrez a 931.

In a dual with Waubonsie Valley on Tuesday, the Panthers took all 10 points in the non-conference match and were led by Torrez's 198 average.
