Roundup: Oswego East boys golfers win dual with Romeoville

BOYS GOLF

Oswego East: Medalist Ethan Lindblad shot a 44 to lead the Wolves to a dual win over Romeoville on Aug. 27 at Fox Bend. Max Woods carded a 45, Gavin Hjelle a 47 and Jack Walsh a 48 for Oswego East, whose 184 topped Romeoville's 235.

Hjelle and Blake Lipscomb each shot 83s to lead the Wolves to 11th place at the 20-team Geneva Invite Aug. 22 at Mill Creek. Walsh shot oan 88 and Lindblad an 89 for Oswego East's team score of 343.

Oswego: The Panthers dropped their first conference match of the year, 165-173 to Minooka, on Aug. 22. Ryan Prusak shot a 40 and Patrick Hranka a 41 to lead Oswego. Lucas Ingram and Ethan Albaugh each carded 46s.

Oswego JV won its first conference match against Minooka 201-223 on Aug. 22 at Heritage Bluffs Golf Course. The Panthers were led by Riley Kiesewetter who shot a 46, Joey Barenie (48) and Chandler Aagesen (53). Alex Aagesen and Jacob Kelly both shot 54.

GIRLS GOLF

Oswego Co-Op: Summer Hawkins shot a 39 to lead Oswego Co-Op past Plainfield East 180-216. Ryan Sanders and Katie Brucki shot 46s and Lauren Zalud a 49.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Oswego: Isabelle Christiansen placed first individually and Oswego took second to Downers Grove South in a quadrangular meet in Downers Grove Aug. 23.

VOLLEYBALL

Oswego East: Alena Grabavoy had five kills, Simone Schurr three kills, Juliana Seno 15 digs and Gabi Andrade and Simone Schurr 11 digs apiece to pace the Wolves (0-2) in a 25-18, 25-13 loss to Waubonsie Valley. Oswego East's JV lost in three sets, while the freshman teams both won in two sets.

Abbey Clarke had seven kills to pace the Wolves in a 25-15, 25-19 loss to Metea Valley. Seno had six digs and Schurr eight assists.

Oswego Youth Tackle Football: The Oswego 8U Panthers defeated the DeKalb Junior Barbs 34-21 in their season opener Aug. 18.
