2 charged in connection with Romeoville murder now in Will County jail

He's expected in court Monday

The two suspects arrested in Madison County earlier this week in connection with the murder of a Rochelle woman now are in the Will County Jail.

George L. Hooper, 34, of the 21000 block of West Joyce Court in Plainfield, was booked about 5 p.m. Friday and charged with the murder of Jennifer Underhill, 42. Hooper also was charged with felony possession of a weapon and possession of a firearm while on parole.

His mother, Rose M. Parker, 57, also is in the Will County jail for alleged obstruction of justice.

The Will County Coroner’s Office said Underhill died because of injuries caused by blunt force trauma from an assault.

A third person, Amanda Weck, also was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm in connection with the incident.

The Romeoville Police Department continues to investigate.

Hooper was released from prison less than a year ago and was on parole at the time of his arrest for a long criminal history in DuPage County.
