Stiemke: Thanks to Human Race participants, volunteers

Thank you, McHenry County, for supporting local nonprofit organizations in the 2018 Human Race. Almost 1,000 heroes registered for the race, and more than 75 charities were supported. The eighth annual community event raised about $60,000.

A special shoutout needs to go to the race committee that made the Human Race a success. Chairpeople Terry Lagerhausen and Carrie Holtz, along with Andrea Stiemke, Bob Teiken, Bob Walsh, Jeanne Schroeder, Judy Michols, Justina Draper, Lucy Bieneman, Mark Regan, Robert Murray and Trish Justis, created a great event with the help of more than 100 volunteers.

Another important group to thank are the race sponsors. Without their help, the race could not take place. This year’s sponsors were Community Foundation for McHenry County, General Kinematics, Centegra Health System, United Way 2-1-1, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, Aurora University Woodstock, McHenry County College, Star 105.5, Stryker and The Running Depot.
