For the second year in a row, Bolingbrook High School Principal Jason Pascavage has been named Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Association Three Rivers Region.
Pascavage is in his second year at Bolingbrook High School and was selected for this honor by his peers in the Three Rivers Region, consisting of Grundy, Kankakee, Kendall and Will counties.
Pascavage is now in his second decade of service to the students in Valley View School District 365U. Previously, he had been principal at Jane Addams Middle School, and prior to that assignment, assistant principal at Brooks Middle School.
In being named Three Rivers Region Principal of the Year, Pascavage is now under consideration for the IPA’s statewide Principal of the Year Award.
Under Pascavage’s leadership, Bolingbrook High School has seen a 34 percent leap in the number of students earning recognition as Advanced Placement Scholars by scoring 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. (AP Exams are graded on a scale from 0-5, with 5 being the highest possible score.)
In the last two years, the number of AP classes taken by students at Bolingbrook has doubled to more than 1,700. Bolingbrook High School is also ranked by U.S. News & World Report in its most recent rankings of America’s Best High Schools.
The numbers and honors tell just part of the story at Bolingbrook. Dr. Pascavage is best known among the students for making the morning announcements from different classrooms throughout the course of the school year. He always ends the announcements with his reminder to “Honor Bolingbrook, honor the Raiders.”
