New physician joins Cancer Center

DeKALB – Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital Cancer Center has welcomed hematologist and medical oncologist Dr. Faisal Saghir to its staff.

Saghir’s clinical interests include the treatment of breast and lung cancers and hematological disorders. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Saghir comes to Northwestern Medicine with a great deal of experience in the field of oncology. He completed his residency at Rosalind Franklin University/Chicago Medical School and his fellowship at the University of Illinois. He attended medical school at Army Medical College, Pakistan.

He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American Medical Association. Most recently, Saghir was in private practice in Hinsdale. Before that, he was the director of the breast program and chairman of the cancer committee at a community hospital in Wisconsin and a faculty member at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
