Francis ‘Frank’ Koger Sr.

PRINCETON — Francis “Frank” L. Koger Sr., 83, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Frank was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Monticello, Ky., to Charlie and Clona (Ball) Koger. He married Teresa Brogato on April 12, 1958, in Chicago.

He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1954 to 1957. Frank worked for over 25 years at Consolidated Freightways and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, restoring old cars and spending time with his entire family.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Princeton; one daughter, Mary Koger of Princeton; four sons, Francis Jr. (Elynn) Koger of Jenison, Mich., Mark (Sherri) Koger of Princeton, Roger Koger of Valrico, Fla., and Robert (Pam) Koger of Arnold, Mo; one brother, Marshall (Cathy) Koger of Osgood, Ind.; one sister, Betty Smock of Osgood, Ind.; six grandchildren, Francis L. (Beth) Koger III of Mississippi, Brandon (Lisa) Koger of Michigan, Nick Cerar of Virginia, Erica J. Koger of Illinois, William J. Koger of Missouri and Jacob M. Koger of Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Griffin L. Koger of Mississippi and Gemma B. Koger of MIssissippi.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Garmon, Hubert, Claude, Kenneth and Doyle; and three sisters, Eva, Irene and Judy.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton with Father Daniel Gifford officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.
