COAL CITY — Emily E Schimpf, 23, of Carbon Hill was arrested at 12:55 a.m. Friday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
According to police reports, the Grundy County deputy who pulled Schimpf over smelled what he thought to be cannabis and perfume.
Schimpf admitted to drinking and smoking K2, a synthetic marijuana, according to the deputy.
Upon a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a bag of cannabis that weighed less than 10 grams, which is a ticketable offense, and drug paraphernalia paraphernalia, police said.
The deputy also found two unmarked bottles containing Tramadol, Vicodin and Tylenol, police said
Schimpf was arrested and taken to the Grundy County Jail.
No court date or bond had been set as of Thursday morning.
