Cameron Reed tossed a five-inning no-hitter against Rockford Boylan on Wednesday to lead Huntley to a 13-0 nonconference victory in Rockford.
Reed issued a two-out walk in the bottom of the fourth inning for Boylan's only baserunner. Reed (2-0) struck out eight and needed only 70 pitches over five innings. He got six groundouts and one flyout.
Adam Smylie finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Brad Model drove in a pair of runs with two runs scored, and Chris Costantino (one RBI) and Jordan Goldstein (two steals) each had a double.
Joe Boland scored twice with two stolen bases, Tyler Koss had two RBIs, and Joe Rizzo (2 for 2), Keegan Garcelon and Matt Rodriguez each drove in a run for the Raiders (5-1).
Prairie Ridge 6, Prospect 4: At Mount Prospect, the Wolves scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and win in nonconference action. In the seventh, Nicholas Sargeant had a bases loaded walk, Roth Mizell had an RBI groundout, and Brogan O'Connor had an RBI bunt single.
Sargeant drove in two runs for the Wolves (4-2), and Alex Powers finished 2 for 3 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Zach Teegen added a double and a run scored.
Scott Nygren earned the win in relief of Michael Patterson. He allowed an unearned run on two hits with four strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings. Patterson pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits with seven strikeouts and no walks.
Jacobs 9, Grant 1: At Rent One Park in Marion, Ian Oreskovich hit a two-run home run and finished 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs for the Golden Eagles in a nonconference win. Ryan McGorrian (two RBIs), Adam Kale, and Daniel Murray (RBI) all had two hits with a double.
Mike Addante led off for Jacobs (5-0) and was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, and Matt Camp drove in a run. Justin Lavrisa went six scoreless innings for the win, giving up four hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Cary-Grove 4, Warren 3: At Rent One Park in Marion, Ben Baruth drove in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning to score Luc Bressett for the Trojans (5-1) in a nonconference victory.
Later in the fifth, Ryan Ignoffo scored on a wild pitch to give C-G a 4-2 lead and the Trojans held on. Kevin Pedersen had a double and two RBIs for the Trojans, while Ignoffo was 2 for 3.
Michael Eleftheriou started and had a no-decision, giving up one unearned run on two hits with a pair of walks and four strikeouts in four innings. Ignoffo earned the win in relief, going three innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on a hit with a strikeout and three walks.
Crystal Lake South 11, Wauconda 0 (5 inn.): At Rent One Park in Marion, Brian Fuentes smacked a two-run home run in the first and added an RBI hit in the second for the Gators in a nonconference win.
Fuentes was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, Scott Skwarek had two RBIs and two runs, Ryan Parquette was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Nick Wolski drove in one. Kory Olson was 2 for 3 with a double, a steal and a run scored.
Andrew Engelking and Josh Freeze combined on a one-hitter over five innings. Engelking earned the win, striking out six and walking one in four innings. Freeze allowed a hit in the fifth.
Crystal Lake South 13, Carbondale 5: At Carbondale, Brent Chubb finished 4 for 4 batting ninth and drove in five runs and scored twice for the Gators in a nonconference win. Parquette drove in two with a run scored, Michael Swiatly went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, and Wolski and Blake Kuffel each added an RBI for South (6-0).
Fuentes added two runs and a triple, and Kyle Lang earned the win. Lang tossed four innings and gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits with four strikeouts and a walk.
Woodstock North 7, Streamwood 5: At Streamwood, Colin Ritter finished 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Thunder in a nonconference win. Jake Glaves had a two-run single for Woodstock North (4-1).
Aaron Montgomery drove in a run with a double, Nicco Mazzanti had a double, and Will Taylor and Zach Johnson each drove in one run. Nate Harris scored twice in the victory.
On the mound, Dain Glaves tossed 6 1/3 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits for the win. He struck out five and walked five. Ritter got the final two outs for the save.
Rockford East 2-1, Marian Central 0-4: At Rockford East, the Hurricanes split a nonconference doubleheader against the E-Rabs. Preston Bagley held the Hurricanes to only one hit in the first game, striking out three and walking two in a complete-game shutout. Josh Taylor had the only hit for Marian Central in the fifth inning with two outs.
James Raffauf struck out eight and walked three over five innings and only allowed one hit, an RBI double by Bagley.
AJ Golembiewski went the distance in Game 2, giving up one run on two hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts and no walks. He needed just 77 pitches in the complete-game victory, throwing 50 for strikes. He also went 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBIs.
Josh Arejola was 2 for 3 and Harry Beck and Dylan Kuster each had an RBI and a run scored for the Hurricanes (2-3).
South Elgin 9, Hampshire 3: At Hampshire, the Storm jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first against the Whip-Purs (3-2-1) and never trailed in a nonconference win. Trevor Laffin went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, and Kevin Michaelsen and Logan Nespor each drove in a run in the loss. Matt Jachec added a double and a steal.
Nespor took the loss, allowing eight runs (four earned) on nine hits over four innings with three strikeouts.
Larkin 12, Marengo 3: At Marengo, Larkin used a seven-run fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and run away from the Indians in nonconference action. Danny Schenk finished 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Marengo (2-4), and Cody Wilcox drove in the third run.
John Henning and Jake LaSota each had a double and a run scored, and Brayden Quick added a run scored. Quick took the loss, giving up six runs (four earned) on a hit and six walks over three innings.
Tuesday's late result
Johnsburg at ESPN Zone Orlando: At Orlando, the Skyhawks dropped two games to Willoughby South (Ohio), 9-6, and Mayfield (Ohio), 9-2, falling to 1-4 in the tournament.
Hunter Rodgers went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Skyhawks (2-4) against Willoughby South, while Riley Elliot, Dillon Pokuta, Brody Frazier and Ricky Garcia all drove in a run. Trevor Wotring had two steals and a run scored.
Aidan Stark started and took the loss, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits with five strikeouts. Blake Lemcke allowed four runs on four hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Against Mayfield, Adam Jayko had a double and Lemcke drove in a run. Chris Krennrich allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits in 2 1/3 innings and was charged with the loss.
