The Los Angeles Dodgers’ Bobby Miller and Pittsburgh Pirates’ Quinn Priester, two of McHenry County’s all-time great pitchers, are set to make major league starts on the same day for the second time in the past six days.
Cary-Grove graduate Quinn Priester outdueled San Diego Padres pitcher Yu Darvish to earn his first major league win for the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night. Priester had four strikeouts, including whiffs of Xander Bogaerts and Manny Machado, in an 8-4 victory.
