To continue the arduous journey of participating in the growth of opportunities for individual students
What differentiates you from the other candidates running for board seats?
There are many commonalities among most individuals who run for school boards, a sense of community service an interest in the development and success of the upcoming generations. My personal contributions are in the areas of curriculum development particularly integrated with technology . Finding which are the best ways to reach each student.
If elected, what would be your top priority as a board member?
Being part of a group effort, students, teachers, administrators , and board members to design individual instruction for each student and help them recognize their strengths and how to build on them.
What can local school officials do to help ensure the district receives its share of funding from the state?
Be involved in the lobbying efforts of school organizations,such as the Illinois Association of School Boards, as well as personal involvement in political campaigns.
What do you see as the role of technology in education?
The role of technology in education is myriad and its value is just beginning to be understood. How a student learns varies among individuals, most productive time of day ,auditory, visual, incorporation of physical movement ,group collaboration, virtual environments to name a few can be integrated into new curriculums with the use of technology .
