Police: Man pulled fire alarm at Shorewood nightspot

SHOREWOOD – A Frankfort man faces a felony charge after allegedly setting off a fire alarm in a crowded nightclub earlier this month.

Curt S. Wdowikowski, 25, was arrested Thursday by Will County Sheriff’s Office deputies after Shorewood police obtained an arrest warrant for the March 12 incident at Skooters Roadhouse, 700 W. Jefferson St.

Shorewood Deputy Chief Jason Barten said police officers were at the club early that morning when the alarm went off.

“Dispatch was able to tell them where the alarm had been pulled from and there was no fire there. The club was fairly full and they’d already started evacuating and the fire department was on the way,” Barten said.

Police and staff reviewed video surveillance to identify a group that “had a problem with the owners and been asked to leave beforehand,” Barten said. Officers spoke with some of that group in the parking lot and were able to identify Wdowikowski.

Wdowikowski, of the 22500 block of South Center Road, was charged with making a false fire alarm, a felony that carries a prison term of one to three years. He was released from the Will County Jail after posting $20,000 bond.
