Bolingbrook students win art contest

CHICAGO – Fourth grader, Jorge Mejia of BJ Ward Elementary School in Bolingbrook, is one of two winners in the Chicago Metro area to win the Illinois American Water “Imagine A Day Without Water” art contest.

Madison Cereno, a fifth grader at St. Dominic School in Bolingbrook was also selected for her artwork.

Every fall, Illinois American Water invites third, fourth and fifth grade students, within the company’s service areas, to submit artwork focusing on the importance of water. This community outreach incorporates children into the discussion of raising awareness to the value of clean, safe water in our communities.

Jorge Mejia and Madison Cereno both received a $100 Visa gift card for their winning artwork.
