NEW LENOX – David Livingston and Michael Scudder have been appointed to the Silver Cross Hospital board of directors.
Livingston is the tenth and current President of Lewis University in Romeoville. He previously served as president of Lourdes University for three years and also at Mercyhurst University for 16 years in various diverse capacities, including president of the faculty senate and vice president for advancement.
Prior to joining the Mercyhurst community, he taught religious studies at Loyola Academy High School in Wilmette, Vanderbilt University in Nashville, University of St. Francis in Joliet, Joliet Catholic Academy and Loyola University of Chicago.
Livingston received his bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Augustana College; his master in arts degree in Theology from Loyola University, and his doctorate in theology from Vanderbilt University.
His scholarship focuses on the theological and ethical aspects of forgiveness and reconciliation. His primary concentration is interpreting religious and cultural responses to domestic violence.
Michael L. Scudder is the president and chief executive officer of First Midwest Bancorp, Inc. and the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of First Midwest Bank. He also serves as a member of the advisory committee of the First Midwest Board.
Prior to his current appointment in 2008, Scudder served as First Midwest Bancorp’s president and chief operating officer and as its chief financial officer. He also has served in various other management capacities in his 30 years of service to First Midwest. He began his professional career at KPMG.
Scudder is an active member of the ABA’s American Bankers CEO Council and the Mid-Size Bank Coalition of America. He also is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and The Bankers Club of Chicago.
Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee of DePaul University’s Center for Financial Services and the Metropolitan Planning Council’s Executive Advisory Board.
Previously he served as an inaugural member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Community Depository Institution Advisory Council. Scudder serves as the chairman of the First Midwest Charitable Foundation in addition to various civic and charitable organizations.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master's from DePaul University.
