Steven Sidebottom

TOLUCA — Steven “Suds” O. Sidebottom, 64 of Toluca, formerly of Walnut, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at home.

Born June 12, 1952, in Princeton, the son of Creed and Irene (Wolfe) Sidebottom, he married Judy E. Schulte Nov. 25, 1972, in Ohio, Ill. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2015.

He worked as a seed corn salesman and owned Sidebottom Trucking. He also owned and operated Sud’s Bar and Grill in Toluca for many years. Steve was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca.

Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer (Brad) Fandel of Toluca, Christine (Sean) Cunningham of Minonk and Karen (Derek) McCully of Morton; one son, Steven (Keli) Sidebottom of Minonk; 11 grandchildren, Merceades Fandel, Peyton Fandel, Sierra Fandel, Brayden Cunningham, Kyra Cunningham, Lucas Sidebottom, Parker Sidebottom, Mila Sidebottom, Isabelle McCully, Maya McCully and Dylan McCully; one sister, Patricia Madson of Campbellville, Ky.; his mother-in-law, Marie Schulte of Walnut; four sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Don) Wallace, Kathy Schulte, Joyce (Dean) Geldean and Carla (Tim) Gonigam; three brothers-in-law, Virgil (Judy) Schulte, Marc (Carol) Schulte and Jim (Cindy) Schulte;and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Ryan H. Anderson, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Toluca, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Eastern Marshall County Ambulance Service, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Central Illinois Kidney Fund and Meals on Wheels.
