Presence Health opened the Healing Arts Pavilion in Romeoville, a beautiful 30,000 square foot outpatient facility provides the community with caring, fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatricians, supported by one of the largest health systems in Illinois.
A geriatrician is a primary care doctor who has received additional training and certification in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and disability in older adults. Geriatricians have furthered their understanding of the — often complex — medical issues we face as we age, such as chronic pain and cognitive problems. They are also accustomed to addressing situations where seniors are prescribed multiple medications that may interact negatively with each other and cause serious or dangerous side effects. The outstanding geriatricians practicing at the Healing Arts Pavilion are exceptional in their knowledge and care.
“I take a team approach and work closely with the patient, their family, social workers and other health care professionals to ensure the delivery of quality care,” explains Bhavesh Gandhi, MD. Dr. Gandhi earned his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, and completed a fellowship at Aurora Sinai Medical Center Hospital, Wisconsin. Dr. Gandhi is board certified in geriatric medicine and family medicine, and is specially trained to help you stay healthy and active while treating conditions that often affect older patients. His clinical interests include memory disorders, arthritis, balance issues, incontinence, osteoporosis, depression, multiple medication side effects, and chronic heart and lung disease. Dr. Gandhi is on the medical staff at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, and is fluent in English, Gujarati and Hindi.
