Bowling: Petzoldts crowned Queen, King of Joliet area bowling

JOLIET – The 2015-16 adult bowling season in the Joliet area reached a conclusion with the recent awards dinner at the Joliet Moose, hosted by the Joliet Area USBC WBA.

Jenny Petzoldt and Joey Petzoldt were presented as the Queen and King, and members of the Greater Joliet Area Bowling Hall of Fame were honored.

The Petzoldt siblings, who are from Lemont, made history as the first family members to be named Queen and King.

Jenny Petzoldt earned her crown from an accumulation of 394.15 points, from a composite average of 226.15, 111 points for league series, 34 for league games, 18 for Association tournament all events and five for Association tournament singles.

Her court consisted of Nikki Lunsford, 276.93 points; Tara Paxson, 232.42; Denise Driscoll, 230.07; Casey Kernbauer, 221.34; Andrea French, 218.87; Autumn Lee, 213.65; April Flaws, 211.13; Jennifer Powers, 209.14 and Samantha Isaacson, 205.2.

Joey Petzoldt accumulated 326.11 points from a composite average of 231.11, 26 points for league series, 14 for league game, nine from Association tournament team, 10 from Association tournament doubles, 20 from Association tournament all events, 13 from the Will County Open and three for multiple leagues.

His court consisted of Wade Gayhart, 278.684 points; Dane Walker, 272.07; Andrew Welz, 267.577; Larry Bigger, 265.408; Tom Menz, 260.505; Brian Foster, 260.133; Ryan Lakota, 258.524; Chris Paxson, 256, and William Matiasek, 255.

Sherry Carson and Thomas Hinz were crowned Senior Queen and King for bowlers over the age of 55. Carson earned 217.08 points from a composite average of 194.08, three points from high league game, 15 from Senior tournament all events and five from Senior tournament singles. Her court consisted of Jackie Stout, 210.3 points; Deborah Brown, 196.09; Jan Coble Herrod, 181.48; and Susan Polesel, 175.43.

Hinz received a total of 245.54 points, accumulated from a composite average of 223.04, 16 points from high league series, three for multiple leagues and 3.5 for age adjustment. In his court are Roger Grimmett, 239.16 points; Mario Medved, 232.96; John Urban, 232.5; and David Hanus, 231.5.

Bowlers over age 70 compete for the Super Senior crowns. Wearing them are Irma Cooley and John Urban.

Cooley earned 197.134 points from a composite average of 159.134, 18 points from league high series, three from league-high game, 14 from Senior tournament all events and three from Senior tournament singles. In her court are Barbara Williams, 188.591 points, and Jan Kochevar, 181.875.

John Urban accumulated 267 points from a composite average of 207, 31.5 points from league high series, 6.5 for league-high game, 10 from Senior tournament all events, 10 from Senior tournament singles and two for age adjustment. His court consists of Don Rimbo, 243.5 points, and Randy Kemp, 217.

WBA and BA Tournament champions were given recognition for their winning scores. The Joliet Area USBC WBA Scratch team champions are Paxson Electric #1 with a score of 2,499. Members are Ashley Paxson, Lisa Paxson, Breanna Murphy and Tara Paxson. Scratch doubles was won by Ashley Paxson and Tara Paxson with 1,264, Scratch singles by Jennifer Powers with 723 and Scratch all-events by Denise Driscoll with 1,930.

Supreme General Construction was Handicap team winner with a total of 2,706. Members are Sue Polesel, Diane Segatto, Sandy Cialoni and Karen Hanson. Caitlyn Jones and Katie Kingman won Handicap doubles with 1,437, Jennifer Powers won Handicap singles with 839 and Denise Driscoll was the Handicap all-events winner with 2,173.

The Joliet Area USBC BA 76th annual tournament scratch team winner was #NO SPONSOR with a score of 3,208. Fidel Marchena, Kyle Zaremba, Anthony Janes, Beau Breunig and Joey Petzoldt are members. Petzoldt and Zaremba won Scratch doubles with 1,411. Rob Wells Jr. was high in Scratch singles with 731 and Petzoldt took Scratch all-events with 2,067.

Handicap team winners were Josh Fenilli, Rick Gibbons, Eddie Kantor, Chris Ruffino and Joey Fenilli, who made up You Like Apples. They had 3,384. Handicap doubles winners were Steve Barkoski and Steve Horozinski Jr. with 1,357. Handicap singles was won by Lance Pavur and Steve Honozinski Jr., who tied with 732. Handicap all-events winner Steve Horozinski Jr. with 2,152.
