Hursts’ Berwyn Jewelers to host fair trade colored gem event

BERWYN – Hursts' Berwyn Jewelers, 6418 W. Cermak Road, Berwyn, will host a fair trade colored gem event from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 17.

Kathy Hurst, president of Hursts’ Berwyn Jewelers, will share her passion for fair trade color gems by hosting this event, which will feature one of the earliest providers of fair trade gems, Columbia Gem House.

Attendees will have exclusive access to precious and semi-precious fair trade color gems, not readily available in the Chicago area. Columbia Gem House colored gem expert Eric Phillips will share insights into fair trade practices, as well as provide details about the origins of gems and their unique characteristics.

The first 100 adult attendees at the event will receive a free fair trade colored gem from Columbia Gem House.
