KishHealth System, part of Northwestern Medicine, recognized employees for years of service at the 14th annual Employee Recognition Banquet, on May 10, at the Duke Ellington Ballroom in the Holmes Student Center at Northern Illinois University.
Janice Seldal, Business Office, Kishwaukee Hospital, was honored for 50 years of service and Linda Fruit, Histology, Valley West Hospital, was honored for 40 years of service.
Seldal started her career at DeKalb Public Hospital in 1966, working part-time admitting patients and running the switchboard. Three years later, she began full-time with the Business Office, where she remains today. Over the years, she held various positions including switchboard operator, registration clerk, Medicare/insurance biller, bookkeeper, data processing, and business office manager, business office supervisor, patient relations, and posting clerk.
Fruit has worked in all areas of the Valley West Laboratory since she was first hired in 1975, as a certified laboratory assistant. After passing the Health and Human Services Medical Technologist Exam in 1983, she worked as a medical technologist, working primarily in the Histology Department for 18 years.
