He hired into the position of material clerk for a construction project and for the next 22 years, he would work his way up through various positions to senior accountant and company executive. In 1957, he married Sharlene, and began his family. In the early 60s, he moved his young family to Rolling Meadows and after a number of years the family settled in the neighboring town of Hoffman Estates.
In 1976, Joe achieved his goal by establishing his own business. He was the CEO & Owner of Belcon/Regis Group. Joe took on the challenges of a struggling company, known at the time as Regis Belt Maintenance. From 1976 to the present he revitalized and expanded the company to what is now known as the Belcon/Regis Group.
Over the years Joe served on many community organizations, including Fremd High School Booster Club, Fremd High School Instrumental Club, and various parent and volunteer school projects, as well as Boy Scout volunteer and assistant leader. Joe was also honored with the award for Those Who Excel in Education, as School Board Member of the Year in 1988. Throughout his life Joe has supported education and believed in providing the best possible educational atmosphere for all to be able to reach one’s potential. He once stated, “I am just a common man trying to make a difference.”
Joe continued to support various organizations in Putnam County, such as the Putnam County Food Pantry and was a supporter of the Putnam County Historical Society. He contributed family stories and photos for the Putnam County, Illinois History and Families Book published in 2014.

For those who wish the scholarship programs are: In memory of his first wife, the Sharlene Marchiori Nursing Scholarship at William Rainy Harper College, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067, and he created the The Joe Marchiori Family Scholarship at Illinois Valley Community College, IVCC Foundation, c/o Mr. Fran Brolley, 815 N Orlando Smith Ave., Oglesby, IL 61348.
