Huntley man charged with sending inappropriate messages to teen girl

Ex-tumbling coach accused of grooming Lake in the Hills 15-year-old

LAKE IN THE HILLS – A 24-year-old Huntley man is facing felony charges after police say he sent inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old girl.

According to a news release from the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Kristopher W. Hein, 10395 Sawgrass Lane, Huntley, turned himself in about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday on charges of grooming and indecent solicitation of a child, both Class 4 felonies.

Police received a complaint Nov. 17 from the mother of a 15-year-old Lake in the Hills girl, who spoke of possible inappropriate social media messages, text messages and phone messages to her daughter from a former adult tumbling coach.

Hein was charged as a result of an investigation of the complaint, police said.

Lake in the Hills Police Sgt. Don Fowler would not disclose the name of the organization for which Hein worked as a coach because it was not a part of the investigation. However, he did say the business, which was located in Algonquin, is now closed.

"He has been unemployed for over a year," Fowler said.

The case remains under investigation.
