She was born August 1, 1953 to Dale and Ethel Perkins of Yorkville, Illinois. She was a long-time resident of Yorkville and then rural Kendall County before retiring to Ely with her husband, Dale, in 2008.

There will be no services for Peggy per her wishes. But memorial donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund are appreciated. Visit http://ocrf.kintera.org/teamhope/tealviking for more details.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Dale; her son, Michael (Jennifer) Anderson; her grandchildren, Ivan and Lucille; her parents, Dale and Ethel Perkins of Yorkville, IL; her brother, James (Judy) Perkins of Yorkville, IL; her nieces, Kelli (Steve) Hillgoth and Lexi Perkins of Yorkville, Kristi (Adam) Janssen of Richey, MT, Anna Spitz of St. Louis, MO; her nephews, John (Brandy) Thomas of Elgin, IL, David Thomas of St. Charles, IL, Ryan Perkins of Yorkville, IL, Nolan (Melissa) Ming of McMinnville, TN, Nathan (Korena) Ming of Alton, MO, Tony (Lisa) Spitz or Alton, IL; her sister-in-law, Javonne (Mike) Spitz of O'Fallon, MO; her brother-in-law, Vernon Lee Ming Jr. of Yorkville, IL; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred (Beverly) Humphrey of Mason City, IA; and numerous great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Peggy loved her family very much and enjoyed many visits before her passing. She also enjoyed the lasting relationships with her classmates, Cheryl (Rick) Brandt, Susan (David) Lancaster and Mike Gardner. Their steadfast friendship helped her through difficult times as she battled fallopian tube cancer over the last 4 ½ years.

Peggy was preceded in death by her two sisters, Patricia Thomas and Jane Ming; her brother-in-law, Gary Thomas; her aunt, Yvonne Karkow; her uncle, Walter Karkow; her grandparents, Ira Perkins, Lilian Perkins, Vida Perkins, Harvey Christian and Sadie Christian.

Peggy loved the beauty and wonderment of nature and the change of seasons. This drew her and Dale toward Ely, Minnesota. Peggy was courageous in her battle with cancer and lived life in abundance. Cancer may have taken her life, but it never dominated her life. Doctor visits and chemotherapy was just something on the to-do list in between trips out west, collector's glass shows, Dale's running events and visits with family. She was a very gentle and caring soul who touched many people, friends and strangers alike in her quiet and caring manner. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be sorely missed.
