GURNEE – Dr. Nathan Clark of Clark Family Chiropractic has made it his mission to help his patients gain the right mix of nutritional awareness and skilled chiropractic care, according to a news release.
Focusing on whole-body, whole-family health, Clark helps people become not only pain-free, but also optimally healthy. He sees patients and employs a part-time nutritionist at his office at 1475 N. Dilley's Road, Suit 2, Gurnee, the release stated.
"We educate our patients on nutrition, and exercise as well, so they can reach optimal health faster and benefit more from each adjustment," said Clark, whose patient list includes everyone from infants to seniors.
"We've had a couple of children come in with digestive issues, but through adjustments and helping them learn what real food is, we've been helping them to avoid more invasive treatments," Clark said.
Everything from colitis and irritable bowel syndrome to allergies, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and even weight problems can be improved with chiropractic care, Clark said.
Optimal health is the result of proper musculoskeletal alignment, good exercise and mental health habits, and sound food and supplement choices, Clark added.
Brittnee Sellers, 25, of Grayslake, said she started bringing her 1-year-old son, Braxton Melvin, to see Clark when they boy was just five months old.
"He had acid reflux," Sellers said of her son, whose pediatrician placed him on prescription medication during infancy. "He showed significant signs of improvement after starting spinal adjustments with Dr. Clark. Probably two or three months after starting, he was completely off his medication."
Meg Moran, 56, of Gurnee, also had success with Clark's adjustments.
"I suffer from spinal stenosis," Moran said. "I also had TMJ. I have no pain anymore."
Moran added Clark was able to educate her and her family about whole health.
Clark said he understands some people may shy away from care over cost concerns, so he works with families to make care affordable, the release stated.
"The sooner you start a child on healthier habits, the less likely they will be to develop conditions, and the better quality of life they potentially will have," Clark said.
