Lemont's Happy Hands Preschool names new director

LEMONT – Karin Peraino has assumed the duties of the director of the Happy Hands Preschool at Lemont United Methodist Church, according to a church news release.

Peraino replaced Julie Phillips, who died unexpectedly in May after two years as director.

As director, Peraino will oversee the daily activities at the preschool, work with the staff and teachers and be the first point of contact for parents.

Peraino is a lifetime member of the Lemont United Methodist Church and has directed the church’s Sunday School program for more than 10 years, where she built the curriculum and developed new programs.

She also has been involved in Lemont with the Girl Scouts, American Youth Soccer Organization and Parent-Teacher Association.

The preschool offers programs for kids ages 2 to 5 with enrollment still open for many of the programs for the 2015-2016 school year.
