Glenbard East, Willowbrook, York players part of all-area baseball team

Meet the Suburban Life's 2015 selections

The high school baseball season is finished and it's time for postseason honors. It's time to celebrate the accomplishments of some of the top players from local schools with the 2015 baseball all-area team.

Kyle Coughlin

School: York

Year: Senior

Impact: Coughlin was a West Suburban Silver all-conference middle infielder for the second year in a row. The senior hit .361 while batting leadoff and had 13 extra base hits, 27 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He also had a 2.30 ERA in 45 2/3 innings on the mound.

Sam Craggs

School: York

Year: Senior

Impact: Craggs hit .348 to be among the Dukes' four all-conference players in the West Suburban Silver. The senior outfielder racked up 21 RBIs and 22 runs scored this spring.

Sean Frontzak

School: Montini

Year: Senior

Impact: For the second year in a row, Frontzak was Montini's ace pitcher. He had a 2.95 ERA and even more impressively had 57 strikeouts against just eight walks in 42 2/3 innings pitched.

Carter Johnson

School: Timothy Christian

Year: Junior

Impact: Johnson was a standout two-way player for the Trojans. He led the team with a .443 batting average with 13 extra base hits and 25 RBIs. In addition, Johnson had a 3.52 ERA on the mound with 60 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings.

Trey Jones

School: Willowbrook

Year: Senior

Impact: Jones assumed the leadership role for the Warriors this spring and was one of the team's most productive hitters. The West Suburban Gold all-conference first baseman hit .385 with a .471 on-base percentage and 33 RBIs.

Matt Pizur

School: Willowbrook

Year: Junior

Impact: The two-way player was all-conference in the West Suburban Gold. Offensively he hit .333 with 16 RBIs. On the mound the right-hander had a 2.73 ERA and a 5-2 record.

Chris Roycroft

School: Willowbrook

Year: Senior

Impact: After playing a key role for the basketball team in the winter, Roycroft was even bigger for Willowbrook's baseball team this spring. The 6-foot-8 right-handed pitcher had a 7-1 record and a 1.61 ERA with 59 strikeouts.

Mike Rybarczyk

School: Addison Trail

Year: Senior

Impact: After quarterbacking the football team to a memorable season, Rybarczyk returned to baseball and was the Blazers' top hitter. He led AT in hits (20), doubles (five), runs scored (20), walks (13), batting average (.350), on-base percentage (.442) and slugging (.463).

Michael Sebby

School: Glenbard East

Year: Junior

Impact: Sebby's big junior season allowed him to commit to Illinois State after the season ended. In addition to hitting in the No. 3 hole in the Glenbard East lineup, Sebby had a 1.74 ERA with 55 strikeouts in 48 1/3 innings pitched.

Nick Villasenor

School: Addison Trail

Year: Sophomore

Impact: The sophomore pitcher had a breakout season with one of the best seasons in the area for a sophomore. He had a 1.57 ERA with 60 strikeouts against just 14 walks in 48 innings to earn WSG all-conference honors.

Cam Zunkel

School: Willowbrook

Year: Junior

Impact: The All-Area MVP had a big season on the mound and as a shortstop for the Warriors. He hit .340 with a .437 on-base percentage, 19 RBIs and 28 runs scored. On the mound he racking up a 9-2 record with 52 strikeouts and a 1.78 ERA.
