Face Time with Jay Womack

Geneva resident Jay Womack, 52, was at an Earth Day celebration in Geneva when he answered 12 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Geneva. I was born at Community Hospital in Geneva.

Pets? A Bernese mountain dog-Australian shepherd mix named Sam

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Tom Hanks

First job? Paper route

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Forest ranger. I kind of became that. I am a landscape architect and chairman of the Geneva Natural Resources Committee.

A book you’d recommend? “Nature Principle” by Richard Louv

Words of wisdom? Go out and listen to the wind.

Do you have children? One.

Favorite charity? The Geneva Natural Resources Committee and The Conservation Foundation

What reality show would you be on? “The Amazing Race”

Favorite local restaurant? Bien Trucha in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I am the site steward for a 200-acre oak woodland at Fabyan Forest Preserve, and every other Saturday, with volunteers, we spend three hours cutting down invasive buckthorn. To volunteer, send me an email at jwojmack@wrdenvironmental.com.
